Celebration of Learning - Dinosaurs: We are so proud of all the excitement, learning, fun and sharing that took place during our Celebration of Learning last Monday, February 29th. The children were so excited to show off so many of their projects, activities, and artistic creations. Thank you all for being here, exploring, and spending time with your children and grandchildren!
Class Book: We currently have our latest PreK class book about our favorite dinosaurs in circulation. If you don’t get to see it before vacation, we guarantee you will see it when we return to school. Enjoy!
Valentine Thank You: The PreKers had a wonderful time celebrating Valentine’s Day with their friends here at school! Thank you to everyone for generously contributing the drinks, snacks, paper goods, and valentines. Once again, we appreciate all your contributions.
Parent Conferences: A big thank you to all who were able to be here for parent conferences. We appreciate your knowledge, insight and conversation and we always look forward to these opportunities to discuss your child.
Dr. Seuss and Read Across America: We had so much fun last week celebrating Read Across America Week and Dr. Seuss’ birthday that we decided to extend it through the end of this week. We have already shared several Dr. Seuss stories in class and done some fun activities. We will do more in the days ahead as we continue to encourage and promote the development of important pre-reading and beginning reading skills while fostering a love of literature.
TCS Book Fair: We hope you all had a chance to visit the TCS Book Fair last week. It is always a wonderful event and a great addition to our celebration of Read Across America Week.
PreK Loves Bears: When we return from vacation we will be learning about bears. We have lots of special activities planned so please be on the lookout for a notice that will explain how you will be able to help.
PreK Talents: After months of watching the Fourth Graders present their talents to Reading Buddies, it is now almost time for the PreKers to present theirs! Starting soon after we return from our March vacation, each week we will help the children decide when they will do their talent. We will then send a note home in their blue bins – a week in advance – to let you know. Please remember that this is meant to be a FUN, NON-STRESSFUL activity! The children can choose to share or talk about a special talent (karate, ballet, gymnastics, soccer, art, music, etc.) or a special interest (trucks, animals, dolls, etc.) There is no one activity that is preferable over another, there are no minimum time requirements, and we are always right there to help and assist them in any way possible. Please feel free to let your child decide and use his or her imagination! Remember that they are 4 and 5 years old and there is nothing they can do that will be wrong!!!! If you have any questions, concerns, or are looking for some suggestions, please let us know.
PreK Concert: This is a reminder to mark your calendar for Friday, April 22th so you can be here for the PreK Concert beginning at 8:30 AM. You won’t want to miss it! Additional information will be provided after vacation.

Vacation: It is hard to believe we are already in the month of March and our vacation is almost here. We hope you all have a wonderful, relaxing and healthy 2 weeks away and we’ll see you all back on Monday, March 28th!
