Fall Poems

Apple Tree

Way up high in an apple tree,
Two little apples did I see.
So I shook that tree as hard as I could.
Down came the apples.
Mmm, they were good!

Fall

The leaves are green, the nuts are brown,
(Raise arms sideward; wiggle fingers, make circles for nuts)

They hang so high they will never fall down.
(Stretch arms upwards)

Leave them alone till the bright fall weather,
(move hands as if wind blows softly)

And then they will all come down together!
(Bring arms down to side quickly)

ALL THE LEAVES ARE FALLING DOWN
Tune:  “London Bridges Falling Down”

All the leaves are falling down, falling down, falling down.  (Imitate leaves falling down)
All the leaves are falling down, it is Fall.
Take the rake and rake them up, rake them up, rake them up.  (Imitate raking up leaves)
Take the rake and rake them up, it is Fall.

Make a pile and jump right in, jump right in, jump right in.  (Children jump forward)
Make a pile and jump right in, it is Fall.

Taking A Walk

Taking a walk is so much fun.

We do not hurry (move arms quickly)

We do not run (move finger sideways)

We watch for birds (hand on forehead looking)

We watch for bees   (point to eye)

We look for all the falling leaves.   (flutter fingers)

Leaves Are Falling Down

Leaves are floating softly down (Flutter Fingers)
They make a carpet on the ground
Then, shish! The wind comes whirling by (bring hand around rapidly)
And sends them dancing to the sky.(Flutter fingers upward)

Five little pumpkins sitting on a gate.
The first one said, "Oh my it's getting late."
The second one said, "There are witches in the air."
The third one said, "But we don't care!"
The fourth one said, "Let's run and run and run."
The fifth one said, "Isn’t Halloween fun?"
Then...OOOhh OOOhh went the wind,
And out went the lights,
And the five little pumpkins rolled out of sight.
